Revenge of Me
This is short. I'm back from the UK. It was great. I'll write more about it soon and have photos as soon as Jack sends me a CD containing them. Episode III exceeded my expectations which were incredibly high to begin with. It's great to be home. Can't wait to see if for the fifth time this weekend.
Here are some photos to tide you over. http://www.oldphotos4life.co.uk/swiii/index.htm and http://agentsheriston.fotopic.net/c543710.html

Silly Love Songs
I played one of my favorite songs on my radio show this morning. Mark Kozelek of Red House Painters covered "Silly Love Songs" by Paul McCartney off of his "Wings at the Speed of Sound" album from 1976. It's an 8 minute monster anthem on Red House Painters, "Songs for a Blue Guitar" album. I got not 1, not 2 but 3 calls asking what it was called and saying how great the song was. The interesting thing about this is that Red House Painters is a band that I found out about in a way unlike any other band I listen to. Every band (that I can think of) that I like or listen to was introduced to me by someone I know, or opened for a band I saw. I was living in Seattle and listening to KCMU (now KEXP) back in '99 when I heard the Red House Painters for the first time. I was immediately hooked. I wonder if there's some cosmic profundity to being introduced to the Red House Painters over the radio. For context, I've never ever had 3 people call in asking what a song is (at most 2 when I play anything by Gurdjieff and Thomas Hartmann like this).
As a side note, if you're looking for a good time, I recommend pronouncing Georges Ivanovitch Gurdjieff's name. It's fun.
