So in an apogee of nerdery I give you webcam.cementhorizon.com. And if you thought that a webcam of the Castro Halloween festivities wasn't enough, you can also listen in on a 64kbps stream. So if you weren't able to make it out tonight, and you're stuck at home, join us virtually.

KALX Fundraiser

I did my show on KALX this morning. This week is the yearly fundraiser week where we try to get people to donate to cover our costs. Johnny Savage came on the show with me and we did that thing you see people on KQED do, ya know pledge drive stuff. Well, let me put it in perspective. Last night I answered phones for the 6pm-9pm show, a good timeslot, and we got 5 calls and 500 bucks. This was somewhat slow. This morning, Johnny and I got 17 donations totally $1,100. I'm flabergasted. I was so worried that it'd would just be dead because it's so early. Props to Johnny for doing a stellar job though. It was also a ton of fun.

On Sunday November 6th Saturday November 5th Sunday November 6th, I'll be heading down to Mountain View to attend the Vintage Computer Festival at the computer history museum. 15$ to hear the speakers, and check out the exhibition and marketplace. Who want's to come with me? This question is most pointedly directed at Clark, Ivan and Jacob, though anyone is welcome to come. Let me know.

Update : After seeing the speaker lineup for Saturday I've decided to head down Saturday. Clark is going also. Let me know if you'd like to join.

Update : I'm an idiot, I didn't update my calendar. I'm going on Sunday now with Clark. Let me know today if anyone would like to join.

A blessing or a curse

So this weekend is the 49 Ford housewarming party and massive work on the Bay Bridge. This ends up being a blessing in disguise for those who live outside of San Francisco. Since the bridge closes eastbound at 1AM that night, BART is running all night long. This means you can come out to the party, drink, not worry about driving, and go home ANY TIME YOU WANT. Bart will be heading east and passing through 24th st station (15 minutes away) every hour at about 14 minutes past the hour ALL NIGHT LONG. Here's the timetable.

Rain

Hope took me to see Rain, a show at the Curran Theater by a group called Cirque Eloize. It was really good. If you might be interested in seeing it, let me know and I can tell you about it.

Happy Birthday Nurse V

I don't know why I like this picture of you so much, it just seems to really capture your essense somehow. It's so irreverant, comic and kicking-ass-and-taking-names that I think it's perfect. Happy birthday. You are the good stuff, and I'm lucky to know you and be your friend.

Where's Danny?

So I was reading boingboing as I do every day (or hour) and followed a story about the Web 1.0 conference last night, which I found to be a hilarious idea, at which point I happened upon Danny. He turns up in the most unexpected places.
